Production order for R5365 is dated 8/21/63 It was ordered as an R2 and sent to engineering where they cobbled in air conditioning, putting the compressor in the power steering pump space and reversing the hardware in the cabin. It was delivered to Filmways in southern California and not licensed for the street until the fall of 1964. I presume this car was used on the Mr. Ed show or in commercials. Itıs VIN tag sports the number R5365B.

My seller loaded the remains of R-5516 (wrecked in '65) along with a bunch of NOS spares in two containers. The car it came from was bought new in London, England and the car was wrecked in Ireland so it is a well-traveled piece. The parts were trucked to Waterford where they were loaded on a small container ship to Hamburg. There they were loaded for Baltimore. Paul Johnson / Harpers Ferr, WV Oct 2005

(engine RSK 308-42), Red/black, AT, PW- totaled in 1965 when a truck pulled in front of the car in Ireland. Would have been repairable in the US- just damaged left front. Owner unbolted or removed everything that could be taken off, threw away the body and frame. Crated remains came with my R-3/R-4 purchase from England/Ireland in 1985. (Anon)
