Original Avanti red with tan interior. 4th owner of this original car with less than 30,000 miles. Purcased in Santee CA in November of 2001. At 7000 feet elevation in the mountains of Southern California, the Paxton supercharger still puts out 5 psi boost. I plan upgrades that Avanti fans will recognize such as the new Flowmaster based exhaust system I had installed.

The factory Studebaker R4 intake manifold and the Halibrands
came from Allan Songer in California. The engine is bored .90 over

This car sports gorgous red paint (not Avanti), red cloth seats, and ventage Crager 72 spoke wheels. Shown 26 times in 2004 in the NM-AZ area. 61st place, 42nd place, and 13th in the shows that gave awards. See R1880 for my daily driver.

R3650. This has a 63 Super Hawk R1 engine made into an R2

R3672 was originally a white R2 with 4-speed and 3.31 TT, sold new in Columbia SC to a music professor at Juilliard, with me since 1988. During its early career, it had the supercharger removed and AC mounted. The 64 front nose, and the presence of fire extinguisher powder in the old front seat pad, leads me to believe the first owner found the R2 a bit much. I had Myer's do it up to "R-two-and-a-half" with R3 valves, heads, cam and headers, R3 bonnet and front suspension, big sway bars. It retains the ex-Pontiac 600CFM AFB that was used to step it down from R2, and it works.

It was originally Avanti Red. It belonged to the son of the Studebaker dealer , here in Tulsa. I purchased the car from him. It has, to my knowledge, never been on ebay. I have owned the car for 15 years. So the car is a 2 owner. The previous owner told me his father gave he and his twin brother each, a Avanti upon high school graduation.(I saw the price on mine on the original title ($4955). He also stated that the car was special ordered from the factory with the AC stuff in the passenger compartment. I have no way of verifying that.

You are more than likely correct about the headlights, but the AC stuff in the passenger compartment is old, real old. (but it still works). I added all the air-conditioning stuff under the hood, compressor, dryer, condensor and all. (Just converted it to r134)

I believe this to be the 3rd engine in the car, and I cannot find a serial number on it. ( I know, upper left front of the block). The alternator mounts like other R2 Avantis also
