Studebaker Trunk Latch fix

Your key to the trunk will NOT undo the latch to open it, so you have to crawl into your trunk, from the back seat, to undo the spring holding the latch closed. Quite the aggravating situation.

I had this happen numerous times, while renovating a car, even after working over the original latch and then changing it out for a different mechanism
There had to be a way to remedy this.

Apparently, when the trunk lid gets dropped or slammed shut, there's enough 'bounce' in the latch to allow the hook to separate, even though it's supposed to be under tension.

It just needed a littler helper to stay put...
