Aug 2005 Tuning an Edelbrock carb on a Stude NOTE: The Carter AFB on 63-64 R-series engines was a 600 CFM carb. The venturis were specific to those carbs - a new Edelbrock 600 CFM carb will be too large for optimal performance on a Stude V8 ========================================= My personal experience with 1406's on non-performance small cube engines is that leaner secondary jets improve full throttle acceleration. Depending on what you are not liking about the performance would determine the changes you need to make. If you are happy with initial acceleration but feel full throttle is lacking, try dropping the 95 secondary jet to a 92. Also, a little more timing advance may be necessary. Factory 600 CFM carbs are jetted on the leaner side
