The only difference I can see is the original has 7 blades while the replacement has 6 with two blades connected. The intermittent, off, low speed & high speed work fine but the w/s washer doesn't work when the shaft is pushed. I figure to jumper the wiring harness as needed to provide 12v to the washer when the shaft is pushed. Cost $46 at AutoValue but also sourced the same switch at a Ford dealer and Parts Source (Canadian Tire). Keith Brooks Nov 02 -------------- SW - Backup Light Switch - Column Mounted - All 54 - 58 x PS and Truck / 57-58 Packard w/ standard trans - 59 Stude All + truck / Stude #533460 equates to - GM part # 1998044 ( Feb 2003) ---------- Standard Stude ignition switch crosses to a NAPA KS6180- but you have to figure out a way to swap the internals with your Stude switch so you can use the original key and spring loaded bezel.
