The alternator belt that I finally got to work perfectly on the R-2 is Gates
number 7420 which a 25/64" x 42 5/8" belt.  I think the Studebaker belt was
15/32" wide, but...
The Avanti Parts Book isn't much help on belt configuration.  It only lists
one belt for all R-1s and R-2s, but the illustration shows one belt for R-1s
w/air and all R-2s and a separate belt for R-1's w/o air.  Paul Johnson
