cw2scogg@msn.com (Gregory Scoggin) 1961-63 2 door and 4 door Lark (some T-cab) V-8 Repair parts list ---------- I have been building this data base as time goes on...These parts are parts that usually wear out on a stude during the course of daily driving and are available at commonplace parts stores found in most towns and cities across the USA. The list is ongoing and is intended for enthusiasts who break down and need a part immediately in order to stay on the road. Print it out and keep one in the glove box for emergencies! As a matter of fact, stock up on them and throw em in the trunk with the toolbox.More than likely you will break down on a Sunday at 11 PM Part type Part # Store where found Air cleaner (2bbl) Purolator A 40048 Walmart, shucks, Kragen etc Air cleaner (4 bbl) Fram CA168PL Kragen etc Walmart, shucks, Ballast resistor Standard RU-11 Carquest Brake hoses (non disc) Wagner F24970 Carquest Brake hoses(disc) Wagner F41244 Carquest Brake shoes (disc) Raybestos PGD114 or Raybestos 702 Napa Brake Shoes (front 11") Bendix R-176 Napa Brake shoes (rear 10") Raybestos PAB 53 Napa,Carquest Carb rebuild kit (2bbl) Napa/Echelin 2-5804 Napa Carb rebuild kit (4bbl) Coil IC-17 or C819 Napa/Autozone Condensor( Delco single) AL 868 Napa Dist cap (prestolite) AL 124 Napa Dist cap (delco window) DR 796 Wells Autozone Dist cap (delco) RR 165 Napa Exhaust flange gasket Felpro 60620, NEA EX31 Napa or Pep boys fuel pump (electric) Master E80125 Autozone fuel pump (engine driven) Napa M2211 Napa Gasket (engine) set Felpro GSK 043 Any Master cyl rebuild kit Napa 137 Napa Oil filter Fram PB50, PH 11 or Purolator L30005v-8 models w full flow Any Pertronix ign kit(must use window type dist) #1181 Ted Harbit does the whole kit Points (Delco single point) Napa C5777A or Standard DR2236XP Napa or Pep boys Points (prestolite dist) Wells AL 1044MV Autozone Rotor(Prestolite distributor single point) Napa AL 125 Napa Rotor(delco single point) Standard DR306 Napa Shocks (rear lark air shocks) Monroe maxair 3692296(69229A)P3C78 Pep Boys Shocks (I beam truck front air) Gabriel 39215 Pep Boys Spark Plugs(V8) Bosh 4236,Autolite 437, Bosch super Any and all Spark Plugs(V8) Platinum 7516(wr9fc), Champion RH14Y Spark Plugs(V8) champion RH18Y(hotter),Champ 857 Starter solenoid Napa ST 81 or Standard SS 588 Napa, Carquest Temp send unit Napa TS6178 Napa U-joint (2 dr larks) See section on u joints below U-joint (4dr lark) See section on u joints below Voltage Regulator Wells VR 706 Wells Autozone Wheel Bearings inner/outer (front 11" drum) Carquest A2/A6 or Napa PBR6/PBR2 Napa or Carquest Wheel cyl kit (front 1'-1/8-1-1/16 diam) Bendix 66821 All Wheel cyl kit (front 1'-1/8-1-1/16 diam) Autozone 66821 or Wagner F3609 All Wheel cyl kit (front 1'-1/8-1-1/16 diam) Raybestos WK20 or WK322 All Wheel cyl kit (rear with 7/8" diam) Napa 249 Napa Ujoints-The 4door larks use different ujoint setups than the 2 door larks. For the front on a 4 door Lark use a Napa 505 and on the back use a Napa 507 or Neapco 1-3600 (autozone) For the front on a 2 door Lark use both the same for front and rear: Spicer 5-153X. PV1-4835 or Rockhill BL 1310 Distributor configurations-Stude used a lot of different distributor systems from 59-64..I think 4 to be exact. All v-8s can use any of the distributors, but their parts will be differernt, of course. I have differentiated this above for getting the right parts for the distributor your vehicle uses. In order to use the Pertronix Kit (new electronic ignition setup), you have to use the Delco Window type (GM style) distributor out of 59-61 V8 vehicle with rotor Standard DR306, Distributor Cap DR 796 (Autozone) and Pertronix kit #1181 available from Ted Harbit at Studebaker Parts service (765) 948-5051 18994 N. 125E Summitville, IN 46078 A GM window type distributor cap from the early 60's v8's has ametal window on it's side Keep them Studes on the road! that you can slide up to adjust the point and dwell. The cap used for this is different than the one used in the later model v8 delco distributors so take note of this or you will end up with the wrong cap.If your vehicle uses the dual point prestolite distributor found in R series vehicles then unfortunately, this parts cross ref will not help you with them as I have no cross for them. If P.S- I am searching for more 'modern' #'s to improve upon this list..if anyone has other numbers they would like to share, please send them my way. The bigger the list, the better. specifically, if anyone has found the number for the vacuum advance for the 59-61 V8 Window distributors, I could sure use it as mmy unit (set up with Pertronix) is currently running without it and I can't find one!
