I have used an independent shipper for almost 20 years. His name is Jeff Barnes and he is based out of Indianna. He has shipped many cars for me and I continue to use him for all of the reasons I won't use some of the "Big Boys" on the internet. Some of those reasons have been mentioned so I won't list them. Because of the internet and ebay, the shipping bandits have come out of the woodwork. Jeff Barnes never disappoints me because: 1. Jeff owns his own rig and is the only driver. 2. When you book your shipment, you speak to Jeff. 3. Your car stays on his truck the whole way, no holding lots or sub-let carriers. 4. If it is a long haul like a coast to coast, he will place your car in the front where he won't have to take it on and off when dropping off other vehicles. 5. You can call Jeff anytime and speak to him during the route. 6. Every car I have shipped, the payment is collected upon delivery. (I do not know if that is only for repeat customers.) 7. Jeff will give you an accurate pick-up and delivery timeline. No excuses. 8. Jeff is just a nice guy and an experienced shipper who cares about your car and his reputation. This is the way shipping cars should be. I just spoke to Jeff a couple of days ago because I sold my '95 Rolls-Royce Flying Spur to a gentleman in San Francisco. He considered shipping but instead he is going to drive the short distance from San Diego. At the time, Jeff had a spot open on his truck, and will be on the West Coast next week if your buyer is interested. Jeff's truck is open, not covered, however, nothing of mine has been damaged from the elements. He delivered my '76 Rolls-Royce Camargue from Iowa last summer with no issues and on time. Here is his info for everyone's future reference. Jeff Barnes Barnes Auto Transportation 1800-542-3123 Paul Katson 63R2569
