it looks from your pics that the shift lever might use a standard Hurst bolt pattern, maybe you could just buy a stubby straight Hurst lever and then keep the rest of what you've got and then the shift lever would be more or less straight up the middle of the opening in the console? Or just take a piece of round stock, thread the end for a shift knob, and have it welded to the bottom of the T-bird shift lever. something like 548-0185 here?

in any case, it looks like you have it "together enough to drive" assuming that you've got the driveshaft in, so I'm eagerly awaiting the road test report.
