You convert as I have done on my Champ truck to Chevy brake drums and use any Chevy 1/2 ton 5 hole wheels
By Jerry Kaiser (SDC Member)
I went to NAPA and bought 4 -76 Chevy 1/2 ton 11" rear drums.
Next
what needs to be done is machine your Stude hubs to match the center hole in
the Chevy drums.
SEE PICTURE BELOW
It is important to have as close a fit as possible. The Chevy drum will mount
to the outside of the Studebaker hub.
I used my brake lathe for mine but any machine shop could do it for you.
Then with your drum on the hub. You can drill and tap thru the drum and hub for a counter sunk head machine screw if you feel
it is needed. I did not do this on mine and don't really see a need as long
as the drum fits tight.
You can buy plain or finned drums as pictured.
I am including a picture of a hub that I machined
and a picture of one installed on my Champ.
