"Lincoln's Final Journey: A Nation Mourns" opens at the Studebaker National Museum on June 19, 2015.
President Lincoln rode a horse-drawn carriage to Ford's Theatre one night in April 1865. On June 19, 2015, a new exhibition honors that carriage's return to its home South Bend.
On June 19, 2015, we open a major special exhibition that reveres and honors the 150th anniversary of our first national tragedy. Featuring the carriage President Lincoln rode to Ford's Theatre that night, the exhibition pulls incredible artifacts from collections across the United States - including the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History, Ford's Theatre, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, and others. This is a once in a generation opportunity to see these artifacts and to remember the tragic occasion they represent.
