Founder Arthur Ray Fair, a World War I veteran, was a truck salesman
whose territory was Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and Indiana in the
1930s. He moved his family to Akron in 1934, formed a partnership with
two other men and opened a car dealership, Akron Motor Sales, at
Arlington and Exchange, initially selling Studebaker, then Dodge
and Plymouth.
