April 2008 I have a friend that has purchased a 1963 R1 (VIN 63R2568) originally from Colorado and now in the San Diego area. The front end is damaged and he wants a complete front-end clip (minus the hood, which is okay). He also needs the radiator scroud. He knows he can get the individual pieces, but wants to see if he can get the complete front (he owned a restoration shop and can do the work himself). If he can't find a complete front end, he may elect to part out the car. It is complete, R1 w/o A/C, A/T, P/S and is currently primered. Hogs are good, along a good rear cross-member; the doors open and shut with no problem. There is some rust thru on the rear bottom frame rails/caps towards the traction bar area, but that is the only rust (the car is on a transport trailer, so I got a good look at the underside). I really hate to see it go to parts, Bob Weir It is a '63 R1, with P/S, A/T, power windows without A/C. The new owner is Rudy Phillips and I will have him forward his information to you directly. I didn't find this Avanti in the 2007 Registry. The Avanti has inspection stickers from Colorado, although I did not see a year when these inspection were done. I did see an AOAI sticker on the rear window (very faded and looked to be pretty old). Hope that helps; Rudy may elect to build the car if he can find a complete front-end (without the hood). If not, the car may be parted out or sold as a "Project Car".
