Just received Dave T-bow's Chrysler electronic conversion distributor, and am putting it in the GT. The gap between the reluctor(cam) and the pick-up must be set to .008 to .010, per the instructions. Speaking tonight with a Stude friend, he warned me not to use a steel feeler gauge on the magnetic pick-up. He said to use a brass gauge, of which I was unfamiliar, and obvioulsy not in posession of. It this concern true, or folk lore? "David Mc Lean" jan 02 --------- Absolutely true, magnetic forces can attract the steel gauge and give false "drag" readings, this was an issue on Chrysler units from the beginning.
