Replacement engines there is a chevy dealer in Texas (they advertise in Hot Rod and Street Rodder magazine) that has good prices on crate motors, and sorry but all my donations go to "Our Lady of Perpetual Motion's Home for Potertial Unwed Mothers" they were always there for me when I needed them. Bill makes an excellent point. I put a ZZ4 (later style) crate engine into mine and had to make a number of "accommodations" to get things to work. Having said that, however, it sure is a lot of fun having a brand new motivator under the hood! Scott Reid RQB-1880 ('72) in 87 they switched to a two bolt style valve cover. That is not a problem, so long as the AC, PS Alternator and smog pump bolt up the same. I was just on http://www.paceperformance.com and thet have the base Goodwrench 350 on Special for $1259. This is for pre 85 vehicles, thus all your smog control stuff including intake and ramhorns should hook up with no problems. (This engine does not have the newer Vortec heads which require a different intake, valve covers and I think different ramhorns). I have a friend who is with Pace and he tells me that they ship 50 to 80 base Goodwrench 350 engines and 30+ 350/330's (HO's) and ZZ4's each day! I would not expect any storage caused problems from a Pace unit with this type of inventory turn. My local expert mechanic friend put in a Pace Goodwrench 350 in his 72 work truck and a ZZ3 in his toy 68. ZZ goes like a bat .... He is a happy camper with both engines. Regards, Ken Matson
