Oil Pressure Safety Switches
OPS switches should be used on cars with Electric Fuel pumps to avoid the possibility of fire in the event of an accident. The switch will cut off the power to the pump and prevent fuel from being pumped, if the oil pressure falls below a set level (5psi). This page is a series of graphics that explain how to wire the switch in different situations. |
This graphic shows a Vega style switch, An Inertia circuit breaker and will run pump while cranking the engine to start Vega Style switch and using a Moment switch to run pump to prime carb. Holley Oil Pressure Switch 12-810 |
