Packard Hawk Forerunner?

There's a story, obviously, behind the picture. Something like, ..(Date ?) A Studebaker employee was allowed to build this car, in the Studebaker Design & Engineering Dept, for himself (shown). The rest of the story is blurry, but it has the roofline, used in 58, but 56 fins etc..
