Truman A. Foster's obituary - Truman A. Foster, 92, died at 4:46 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at his home. Born May 8, 1908
, in Jersey County, he was a son of the late Andrew Jud and Mena (Freand) Foster. A U.S. Coast Guard World War II veteran,
 he owned and operated Foster Auto Sales and Repair for 54 years, retiring in 1984, and was a Studebaker and Nash car dealer
 from 1939 to 1959 in Jerseyville. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, I.O.O.F. No. 53 and American Legion Post No.
 492, all in Jerseyville and was a Boy Scouts of America scoutmaster in 1948, the American Red Cross director from 1942 to 
1960 and World War II commander of civilian defense. He married the former Blanche Dierking June 27, 1931, in Alton. She died
 July 3, 1988.
