Hunt Motor Co., Laurens, SC, In around '84 I was coming into town to do a store audit and saw the building with big blue vertical "Studebaker" neon sign out front, and two '66's in the showroom (later seen to be pretty used). A kindly older gentleman came from out back and said he leased the shop out back for his radiator shop. I'm pretty sure I remember he had a '61 Lark Cruiser himself out back there (his own). The showroom had Studebaker stuff still on the walls, and the Parts Dept. had the parts book base with Studebaker logo on it (sixties-style) The building was still there, but it's now a grocery store. I remember the showroom window openings had been bricked up and the building had been painted. I could still recognize the building, though. I have very vivid memories of the scene you described from the early '80s. When I was a kid, Hunt's fascinated me when we'd pass through Laurens on our way to visit family. It was like a time capsule. It's now long gone superelektra SDC Forum
