Attached is a picture of me at age 15 at Lance Motors (Studebaker & SAAB) on Church Avenue in Brooklyn, New York in 1960. I don't think they were a Studebaker dealer for more than a couple of years. It was really a glorified used car lot with a very small service department. The interesting thing is that there was another dealer, Ben-Art Motor Sales, only about 6 blocks away! This was the era when Studebaker was opening any dealers they could find. I remember there was a place called Rogers Pontiac-Lark (they did not even use the name Studebaker on the building) in Brooklyn. I used to hang out at Ben-Art and they were amused by my love for Studebakers. My high school was only a few blocks away. One afternoon they brought me into the service department and let me sit in a brand new red 1961 Hawk (oh that new car smell) and I dreamed that it was mine. I saw my first GT Hawk at Ben-Art as it was unloaded from the transporter from South Bend. I jumped in as soon as it was parked in the lot. The carpeting and wheel discs were in the trunk. I had seen the GT in car magazines but this was the first real one I got to see. I know Ben-Art was still selling Studebakers in 1964 but I don't think they held on through the Canadian models. I have some other information on dealers if you are interested. I have been a member of SDC since 1968. Gary Cameron
