Vehicle Description 1984 Avanti Coupe, Hand built by the Avanti motor Corporation in Youngstown Ohio. These fine american made sports, luxury cars were innovative and exciting for their time. Even today their renowned styling rivals many of the present designs. The bodies were built of heavy duty fiberglass for rigidity and no rust. Their exteriors and instrument panels, plus toggle switches simulated a jet plane cockpit. Yet, their performance was outstanding, and reliability phenominal. The mechanics were proven and easy to maintain Chevrolet, featuring a V8 engine, auto transmission, power steering, brakes, windows, mirror, ect and of course air conditioning, and leather interior. Highly contoured seats in leather with piping, red faced gauges, full array of toggle switch controls and much much more. Each one of these vehicles were hand made and took 8-10 weeks to build. This particular car mechanically is fine but cosmetically fair. These cars usually sell for about $12,000-$14,000, this car will be sold for about 1/2 of this. Please bid! *The VIN number on the car could not be listed due to technical issues. Please be advised that the VIN # is 12AAV1233E1004038. (CONDITION): ENGINE: This car runs very well. Engine starts easily, runs smooth with no noises top or bottom and good compression with no smoke. TRANSMISSION: Shifts properly up and down through the gears with no whine, slip or delay. Differential has no backlash or hum. BRAKES: Are up to the top with good pedal pressure and no pulling left or right. GAUGES: All gauges work properly. POWER OPTIONS: Power windows and electric glass moon roof work fine. FRONT END; There is some slight play in steering but no vibration or shimmy, wheels and tires good throughout. COSMETICALLY; The car from 10-15 feet away has a great look. Body is not damaged, but paint is weak and has some flaking. To be pristine, it really needs a paint job. Can be driven the way it is and will still get compliments and akalads on it's unique appearance. INTERIOR; All leather in burgandy with white piping, the seats are not ripped or torn but are worn in the sense the grain is showing white lines. Seats are very usable and can be covered, but should be dyed if one wanted to restore the original look. So for a summary; the car is not a show car, but runs well & can be throughly enjoyed as a driver. If one wanted to invest a little time and money they can recapture it's original and outstanding beauty.
