This auction is for a PRISTINE 1963 Studebaker Avanti. This car virtually looks like it did when it rolled off the assembly line in '63. This Studebaker has the original R-1 289 4 barrel motor in it. This was the stock motor that was put in the early Studebaker's, and it only has 3,000 miles since rebuild. Some fine chrome accents were added to dress up the engine. Along with the engine, the transmission was also rebuilt.
The newest replacement parts include: electronic ignition, fuel pump, brand new front end (including king pins and bushings), stainless steel exhaust and mufflers, new front pads and rear shoes, and a new 4 barrel carburator.
Factory options include: power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning. These are all in working condition; however, the A.C. needs recharged. The car was professionally repainted recently. The car was stripped to the glass and repainted with plenty of clear coat from front to back. The car also has new chrome bumpers on the front and rear. The interior of the car is in excellent shape for a 63' and the carpet was recently redone. The weather stripping has also been replaced.
For personal preference, American Racing 5-spoke aluminum rims were added and the tires have 80% tread life left. I do have the original wheels with hubcaps that have been stored in a heated garage. I also kept the original stock am radio. I have owned this Studebaker since 1975, and it has always been adult driven as well as always kept in a heated garage(it doesn't know what snow is). The "Buy It Now" option is set at $17,500.
