You are viewing what is known as true designers car. The Avanti is a tour de force of line, form and exhilaration not commonly found in your everyday mode of transportation. It is a car for the truly discerning individual, for the one in the know.
 
This example is a well cared for, adult owned 289  R1, 4 speed. It has traveled a mere 79600 miles since new. It is a very original car, still with its R1 power plant that it received from the factory. I has been repainted its original Avanti white some time ago and although not perfect, it shows well. The interior  is designed with sportsman like driving in mind. The years have been good to it and makes a very presentable driver and local car and Studebaker show vehicle though it would need some attention to be show perfect.
 
I just drove over four hundred miles in this car and all it wanted was more....more miles. A true drivers cars!

This car just received new brakes including new master, new front calipers and rear wheel cylinders. The tires are new as well. Factory radio, clock and heater are not functioning. Paint has some blems including some chips, scratches and imperfections. All lighting, gauges and horn work. Engine is very strong and clutch grabs nicely. Very minor oil spotting. Chrome is nice. Doors shut nicely as does the hood. Steering is tight and dead on! Car is registered and titled to me in California.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire a four speed example of such a note worthy car in automotive history. A California car with absolutely no rust out.
