Turner Dual Master Cylinder Install
16 - 17 March 2001

Remove all components of old Studebaker single circuit master cylinder
Clean up area

First thing back on is the new bracket
Original outlet from old MC is in picture.
Re-install the pedal

Then the support bracket
Then the custom made bolt/pin. This moves the plunger action 5/8" inch outward.

The return spring can be set into the first hole instead of using the small tab
Install the new master cylinder and adjustable rod
Install brake lines, residual check valves)

Install flare connectors with teflon tape
Cut to length and REAM out all flash to get back to the original thickness
Use the double-flare die to fold the outer edge inward, then the regular tool to get the flare.

Red valve ( 10 #) rear brake supply line. Other line here is original main supply to the booster.
Rear line connected, blue valve (2#) on front circuit. View from front also.
Placing front brace in position shows close fit. Lines have to run toward bracket and over frame for this to work.

This car has Front disk brakes with the remote fluid reservoir on the firewall, however access to MC cover is very tight. A balance hole was drilled inside MC to allow fluid to equalize and a remote filler line was installed to accomplish the same feature as the original. The new floor won't have a need for the MC access cover now.
