This trunk lid was obtained at York in 2001 , for a tidy sum, and planned on using it on the "Hawk from Hell II". Reviewing all the previous patchwork on the car up til now, it turns out, the existing trunk lid on the car, was better than this one. It still had to be repaired to be usable.. It can be sold to recover some of the funding....


I, previously, cut out the rot and prepared a long piece of replacement metal. It was the width of the lid and 2" wide.

Slipped it behind the good stuff and tacked it across the span.

then cut smaller strips to fit under the edge fold and tacked them in separately..


Once pretty'd up, it will look fine...
