Leading/body solder was used back in the 50's....

since 'Bondo' wasn't yet invented...

When the sander was removing the old paint, it took some of the lead filler with it...

So, a slow touch with the torch and lead rod..

built up enough to recontour the panel

and didn't come out too bad..
