Backtracking a bit......

If you look at the
inside door gaps, the
drivers side is way off
at the top....

The passenger side is
very uniform
A closer look shows
the outer door gap to be
9/16" at the widest ( unadjusted)

Compared to the passenger side..

The front DS is uniform
down the weatherstrip channel
and small adjustments here
get magnified at the lock
pillar

In order the reduce the lock pillar
gap, The previously tacked floor
has to be undone from the sub
floor box, front brace and hinge
pillar

What has to happen,
is the hinge pillar must be
separated from the floor pan.
This will allow the lock
pillar to be moved closer, then refastened.

Once the floor is free,
adjusting rods are fastened to the jambs.

When the rods bring the sides together correctly, then the floor is screwed down again and rewelded

So we go from this ---->

To this

This was a lot of work for a small adjustment, but worth the effort. You might say it wasn't an option and had to be done. This is the first attempt at this kind of job,, so a few small drawbacks have to be expected. Nothing was lost from the initial work on the DS floor. It's all an education...
Adjusting the door is almost as much work.....
